Family Therapy UK: Free Help
Thanks for visiting my site. If you have a question you would like to ask, please contact me. I will respond within a few days. These questions can be about family therapy or difficulties you are having in your family. This advice can only be at a basic level. For more in-depth discussion you will need to take up my fee-paying service. Many people find the basic advice useful and I will try to be as helpful as possible without entering into therapy.
Here is a handout on finding help This gives information about helping services in the UK, many of which offer free help to you and your family. There are a number of other free handouts on this site which I hope you will find useful sources of information and help.
Please be assured that when you contact me your confidentiality will be respected at all times. Please be careful to protect your own confidentiality when using the internet. Safeguard your email from people you do not want to read it. When I respond to your email I cannot take responsibility for who reads it on your computer.
Please note, I cannot answer questions from students about family therapy assignments due to pressure of work.

Family Therapy UK: Fees
For family therapy sessions and consultations, individual and couple therapy, video-therapy, telephone therapy and complex consultations using E-Mail, I charge a fee. These fees are clearly set out below.
Appointments need to be made for all methods of therapy.
|
Consultation Sessions are one-off meetings to discuss particular issues and to explore whether family therapy will be a useful tool for you and your family. These are often held with just the parent(s) and other adults or services who may be involved with children. Other services might include social services or a school - whoever you feel needs to be there. Other adults might include friends or close relatives.

Family Therapy Sessions include parents and children (not necessarily all the children - whoever you feel it is appropriate to attend). The family therapy process may involve seeing different people together from time to time such as a mother with her daughter or parents on their own to review their management style. It can be very useful to think about who needs to talk to who to resolve issues before you begin the therapy process..

Couple Therapy is for couples who are having difficulties in their relationship. Couples undergoing separation or divorce can consult with a family therapist to discuss the management of the children both before and after the separation.

Individual Therapy is offered to children and adults who want to speak on their own to a therapist. Family Therapists help their clients use systemic thinking (how people relate to each other and the impact of those relationships on their lives). Many parents experience the benefit of speaking individually about family issues from the past and how they impact on present relationships.
